Churches
Count every service, welcome first-timers by name, follow up before next Sunday and keep children's church secure.
Agoo is in early access. This page describes the feature as it ships to early-access organisations; screens are illustrative.
The church pack sets Agoo up for services and programmes rather than office visits. Ushers count attendance, first-timers fill in a digital welcome card, a thank-you goes out before they reach the car park, and the follow-up team knows exactly who to call.
The examples use Grace Chapel International, a fictional church.
What the church pack includes
| Feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Service attendance | Set up services and programmes, such as first service, second service, midweek and all-night. Attendance is recorded per service. |
| Quick tally | Ushers count heads by gender and age band on a tablet or phone, without collecting names. Ideal for large services. |
| Member check-in | Members scan a QR card or give their phone number. Families check in together. |
| Usher mode | A simple, big-button screen for ushers at each door. |
| First-timer welcome card | A tablet at the entrance, or a QR on the screen that people scan with their own phone. |
| Thank-you and follow-up | A thank-you message goes out by WhatsApp or SMS after the service, and each first-timer is assigned to a follow-up leader, who records calls and visits. |
| Absentee alerts | Members who miss several services in a row appear on their cell leader's list. |
| Children's church check-in | Parents get a matching pick-up code, and children leave only with an adult who has it. |
With Agoo AI switched on, Agoo can draft personal follow-up messages for first-timers in your church's tone, for a leader to check and send. See Agoo AI.
Set up your church
Choose the Church template
During onboarding, or in Console → Settings → Forms, start from the Church template. It adds the first-timer welcome card and member check-in forms.
Add your services
Add each regular service and programme, with its times and site. Special programmes, such as a convention, can be added as one-offs.
Set up follow-up
Add your follow-up leaders and cell leaders in Console → People. Write the thank-you message, and choose how many missed services trigger an absentee alert.
Prepare the doors
Set up tablets as kiosks for the welcome card, or put the QR on your screens. Give ushers a phone or tablet in usher mode.
Handle members' data with care
Records of who attends a church reveal religious belief, which is special personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Agoo treats church attendance as special data, and we recommend that you:
- limit who can see named attendance to the roles that need it, such as pastors and follow-up leaders;
- use quick tally, which collects no names, where a headcount is enough;
- keep attendance only as long as you need it, in Console → Settings → Data & privacy;
- send thank-you and follow-up messages only to people who agreed to hear from you on the welcome card.
