WordPress plugin
Agoo for WordPress adds booking and visitor pre-registration to your WordPress site with blocks and shortcodes, and can react to Agoo events.
This is designed and scheduled but not built yet. We document it now so you can plan your integration.
Many organisations already run their website on WordPress. Agoo for WordPress lets you put your Agoo booking page and visitor pre-registration form on that site, in your own pages, without writing code. Developers can go further and run their own PHP when something happens in Agoo, such as a visitor checking in.
It will be published on the WordPress.org plugin directory with the slug agoo.
What it's for
| Organisation | What they add to their site |
|---|---|
| Grace Chapel International (church) | A "Plan your visit" page where first-timers pre-register for Sunday service, so ushers know who to welcome and the follow-up team has their details. |
| Ridge Academy (school) | A booking page for parents to book a meeting with a class teacher, and a pre-registration form for visiting day. |
| Akwaaba Clinic | "Book an appointment" on every service page, with confirmations and reminders by SMS and WhatsApp from Agoo. |
| Coastline Consult (company) | A guest pre-registration form on the "Visit us" page. Guests arrive with a QR pass and check in at the kiosk in seconds. |
Features
- Two blocks for the block editor: Agoo booking and Agoo pre-registration, with their settings in the block sidebar.
- Two shortcodes,
[agoo_booking]and[agoo_preregister], for classic themes, page builders and widgets. - Your branding. The widgets use your organisation's colours and logo from Agoo, or a colour you choose per block.
- No visitor data in WordPress. Forms run on Agoo inside the widget. Names, phone numbers and answers go straight to Agoo and are never stored in your WordPress database.
- A webhook receiver at
/wp-json/agoo/v1/webhooksthat verifies each event's signature and fires WordPress actions you can hook into. - Developer hooks: actions
agoo_webhook_receivedandagoo_visit_checked_in, and filtersagoo_embed_attributesandagoo_embed_script_url. - Test mode. Use test keys while you build. Bookings and pre-registrations go to your sandbox and send no messages.
Requirements
| Requirement | Version |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.6 or later |
| PHP | 8.1 or later |
| Agoo plan | Blocks and shortcodes: every plan that has booking pages, because they show your hosted pages in a frame. Webhook receiver: Growth or above. |
| HTTPS | Required for the webhook receiver. |
The blocks and shortcodes only need a publishable key. The webhook receiver needs a webhook signing secret, and the optional secret key lets the plugin set up the webhook for you.
How it fits together
The blocks and shortcodes print a small placeholder and load Agoo's embed script, which renders the widget. Under the hood, the plugin uses Agoo's PHP library, ardent-africa/agoo-php, for the webhook receiver and for calls made with your secret key.
